HARDline Off-Road was founded by Andy Finch in November 2006, with a first club meeting at Stevi B's Pizza in Augusta, GA. The original club name was HARDline Cruisers. The Club was born from Andy's love for Toyota Land Cruisers and his desire to trail ride, share ideas, and fellowship with other Land Cruiser owners. HARDline Cruisers was originally a Toyota only club modeled after a TLCA (Toyota Land Cruiser Association) club in Atlanta, GA. TLCA provided a list of all local members and Andy started calling people to rally interest in meeting.
There were 11 people at the first meeting. Encouraged by the initial turnout, monthly meetings were held at various Augusta Restaurants. Soon, numbers began to dwindle and it became hard to get more than 3 people at a monthly meeting. It was time to make a change. Since trail riding was the real purpose of the club, the doors were opened to any make or model of 4x4 vehicle.
It didn't take long for Jeeps, Chevys, and even a Land Rover to show up. Now the club was really starting to meet Andy's original vision of a core group of Off-Roaders meeting every month and going on planned trail rides. In 2008, the club became official with adopting By-Laws and electing officers using Parliamentary procedures. The club continues to grow with around 20 active members in mid 2008, and has kept a focus on trail riding and fellowship.
